We moved to Ohio from right outside of Houston, TX in
1993. We brought our smooth coated red Dachshund "Cinnamon" with us. We had
owned two Dachshunds before that. Cinnamon was with us until 1998. We purchased
our wire haired Wheaton Dachshund "Sandee" about three months after we lost
Cinnamon. Sandee is not part of our breeding program but remains one of our most
cherished Doxie family members. Sandee is almost 12 years of age.
Of course I think everyone knows about our situation with "Noodles".
Noodles is also not part of our breeding program. This is due to the
genetic problems that we had with her. She is by far our brightest dog.
And she knows it too. Here is a link to a detailed explanation of what
happened to "Noodles".
We have been raising and breeding
dachshunds for several years now. We are breeding for temperament
first and foremost. We believe that puppies need an enormous amount of
time with people. It is important to play with the puppies, and give them
as much attention as possible. That combined with good genes makes for a
well adjusted and happy adult dog. All our dogs are very social, and
love to be around people.
We do not keep our dogs in a Kennel.
All of our dogs are kept inside our home. We have a fenced in backyard so
that they can go outside to run and play.
They are with us all the time.
Angel came into our life in July of 2002. He is our special boy, our long haired
Cream. We have since retired Angel from our breeding program. We are totally obsessed with the Dachshund breed. There are no words to
describe how much they mean to us. We are older now, and our children are
adults. Our Doxies have taken over that empty nest space in our household. We
also have four grandsons who absolutely adore our Dachshunds. They have two
Dachshunds of their own. I guess you can say Doxies have become our "Family
Affair"! We hope you enjoy your visit to our Blue Rose Doxies website.
